Description

A lacZ-neomycin resistance cassette replaced 1kb of sequence containing almost all of exon 1, which encodes the region of the receptor from the amino terminus to the sixth transmembrane domain. Northern blots of renal tissue did not detect message in homozygous mutant mice. In addition, the mutation was confirmed functionally, by lack of detectable binding of [3H]-PGE2.
