This transgene directs the expression of Cre recombinase under the control of the calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II promoter, which is active starting at P15 in hippocampus, anterior forebrain, striatum and amygdala, but not in cerebellum, olfactory bulbs or inferior colliculus.
