Description
An IRES-lacZ gene followed by a neomycin resistance cassette was inserted into exon 3, which encodes part of the EF hand region present in all isoforms of the encoded protein. Western blot analysis on brain, kidney and liver tissue of homozygous mice confirmed that no detectable protein was produced from this allele.
