Description

A 0.9 kb region encompassing exon 2 and part of introns 1 and 2 was replaced with a hygroB resistance cassette via homologous recombination. Northern blot using an exon 2 probe demonstrated lack of gene transcripts in skeletal muscle and staining for enzyme activity was negative in homogenates of skeletal and cardiac muscle from homozygous mutant animals.
