Description

Exon 1 was replaced with a neomycin selection cassette inserted by homologous recombination. Protein was undetected by Western blot analysis of liver and intestinal extracts obtained from homozygous mutant mice. Absence of protein was further confirmed by immunohistochemical staining of the intestinal mucosa.
