Description

A cassette containing lacZ and neo was inserted into exon 1 seven bp upstream of the start codon. Neither normal transcript nor normal protein was detected by Northern and Western blot analyses of homozygous mutant mice. The lacZ expression pattern recapitulated that of the endogenous gene.
