Description

Exons 4 and 5 were replaced by a pgk-HPRT cassette in reverse orientation. These exons encode amino acids 152-257, which contain the pore forming region located between the fifth and sixth transmembrane domains of the gene. Northern blot confirmed that the transcript was truncated.
