The construct is designed with the CMV-IE enhancer/chicken beta-actin hybrid promoter (CAG; from the pCAGGS vector), a loxP-flanked transcriptional STOP cassette (containing beta galactosidase and a polyadenylation signal), and the soluble form of the murine urokinase-type plasminogen activator receptor (Plaur) gene. The soluble form of Plaur (suPAR) encodes a 60 kDa truncated protein, lacking the glycophosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchored three domain (commonly referred to as D1, D2, D3) protein.
