ENU-induced G to T transversion at base pair 106,312,441 (v38) on chromosome 11, or base pair 2,122 in the GenBank genomic region NC_000077 within the splice acceptor site of intron 3. The effect of the mutation at the cDNA and protein levels has not been examined, but the mutation is predicted to result in the use of a cryptic splice site in exon 4. The resulting transcript would have a 7-base pair deletion of exon 4, which would cause a frame-shifted protein product beginning after amino acid 142 of the protein, which is normally 228 amino acids in length, and termination after the inclusion of five aberrant amino acids.
