Synonyms
  • CELE_M01F1.1
  • M01F1.1
Biotype
protein coding gene
Automated Description
Enables alpha-1,3-mannosylglycoprotein 2-beta-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase activity. Involved in protein N-linked glycosylation. Located in perinuclear region of cytoplasm. Is expressed in intestine. Orthologous to human MGAT1 (alpha-1,3-mannosyl-glycoprotein 2-beta-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase).
WB Description
gly-14 encodes a UDP-N-acetyl-D-glucosamine:alpha-3-D-mannoside beta-1, 2-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase I (GnT 1); GLY-14 exhibits GnT 1 activity when assayed in vitro; a gly-14::lacZ reporter construct is expressed only in the intestine throughout larval and adult stages, with expression generally restricted to the anterior and posterior gut cells; a gly-14 deletion allele is phenotypically normal, even when in combination with a gly-12 mutation.
