Involved in mesendoderm development. Predicted to be located in cytoplasm. Predicted to be part of TORC1 complex and TORC2 complex. Orthologous to human MLST8 (MTOR associated protein, LST8 homolog).
WB Description
mlst-8 encodes a WD40 repeat-containing protein that is the C. elegans ortholog of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and mammalian Lst8; by homology, MLST-8 is predicted to function as a member of the TOR complexes to regulate growth, development, and actin cytoskeleton organization; loss of mlst-8 activity via RNAi results in increased fat content, developmental delays, and small body size; RNAi targeting mlst-8 as well as let-502 results in defects in P cell migration.
